Peer Review Process and Policy

Article submission to Journal of Environmental Nanotechnology is primarily through an online system, though JENT accepts submissions via email, occasionally. The entire article review process of Journal of Environmental Nanotechnology is online and digital. The Editor-in-Chief (EIC) uses a systematic double-blind review procedure for the review process.

After plagiarism check, EIC examines the readability (in terms of clarity of the content and grammar usage) of the paper and may request re-submission, if major discrepancies are found. EIC requests the Editorial board members to provide advice on the scientific merit of the manuscript as well as the likelihood of its appeal to a broad scientometric readership. After the initial approval by the Editorial board members, the submission is sent to two carefully identified external reviewers, based on their field of expertise. The reviewers send their recommendations to accept or reject the article, along with their comments and suggestions for minor/major revisions if required. The consolidated reviewers’ report is sent to the corresponding author, with the approval of EIC.

The article is sent to the Copyeditors for final editing. A final Editorial assessment is performed before recommending the galley for publication. The decision to publish the galley is at the discretion of the Editor-in-Chief. Efforts are made to ensure the completion of the whole process within three months of article submission.

If a member of the Editorial Board is one of the authors of the submitted article or has a conflicting interest, another member will be assigned alternatively, thus ensuring the highest ethical standards.
